Harmony Day 2011
For Harmony Day, 2011 WHISE set up an information stall within Dandenong market. Staff engaged with people from different cultures to discuss the meaning and importance of Harmony Day, distributed health information, a multicultural recipe booklet and general WHISE information.
People who accessed the stall were encouraged to write messages about harmony to hang on the WHISE harmony tree. At the end of the day the messages went into a raffle to win a women’s pamper package.
International Women’s Day 2011
2011 marked 100 years of International Women’s Day. To celebrate, WHISE held a multicultural lunch bringing together staff, WHISE members and women from the community. Loan Le, an IT student at WHISE made a special cake to commemorate this iconic day and also to express her gratitude towards WHISE staff.
